Since its inception in 1991, The New River Valley Progressive Men's Club has worked at setting the example of Leadership and Positive influence within the community. Over this same period The NRVPMC has provided two $1000.00 scholarships to a number of deserving young people.The commitment to the younger generation is also an important role for this club; we host an annual Easter Egg Hunt, and back to school cook outs. Through the year we have numerous fundraisers to help deserving college studentsease someof the financial burdens as they enter college. Special projects have also included assisting the elderly, fund raising for a young lady with Lupus. This exemplifies our motto; "People Caring About People"

Are you hurt, angry, embarrassed, and do not know how to go on with your life? If you are like most of us, you are probably a little uncomfortable coming to a Divorce Care Session. You probably don’t like your present circumstances. These Divorce Care sessions will help you understand your emotions and give you people who are going through like experiences. You will hear concepts that can help you heal from separation and divorce. You will also learn helpful tools that can help you put your life back together. Children lack the life experiences to prepare them for the emotions of anger, hurt and disappointment and as a result tend to blame themselves for their parents separation or divorce. This is not acceptable for a healthy childhood. Children within the ages of 5-12 years are given opportunities to explore their feelings, verbalize and understand what they are feeling. The Divorce Care for Kids sessions will help them sort through all these emotions and more, promoting healing within their hearts, within their family. These sessions run conveniently during the same time as the Divorce Care for Adults. Classes are Mondays at 7pm

Parkinson's Disease Young at Heart Support Group of Roanoke. Our group is made up of Parkinson's patients of all ages and at varying stages of the disease. We are patients, caregivers/spouses, and friends. We meet every third Tuesday of the month from 2-4 pm at The Ronald McDonald House, 2224 S. Jefferson St. in the downstairs Community Room. There is an interesting exchange of information between members and frequent visiting speakers discuss a variety of topics of interest to patients and caregivers.

Anyone who has any interest in joining a group of like minded people who enjoy the great outdoors and the activities it has to offer. In addition to social events that Group members are interested in.
